Elationship

Among the cruise lines plying their trade in the Gulf of Mexico is Carnival Cruise Line, and they have some wonderful journeys to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico for all kinds of tourists including families, Baby Boomers and single travelers. No matter where you want to depart from: Texas, Louisiana, or Florida, they have got you covered. And, you can enjoy a short three or four day cruise, or upwards of a week, depending on your budge and how many stops you would like to plan. It all depends on what you want to do and which shore excursions you are interested in because this part of Mexico has a lot to interest pretty much anyone.

In your typical Carnival cruise, you can incorporate a nice stop at the Grand Cayman Islands; a beautiful and picturesque spot for a spot of soaking up the sun and getting your tour off to a relaxing start. As the locals will tell you, the island does not really have all that much in the way of natural resources. So, the inhabitants had to look elsewhere for a means of supporting themselves. Today, one of the ways is through banking; it is downright amazing how many banks there are on the islands. And, of course, there is tourism. Once on the islands, you can indulge in swimming, fishing, snorkeling etc. – all manner of water sports. They also have incredible shopping, which is quite surprising considering they are a small cluster of islands. Yet, there are enough jewelry stores to satisfy a whole shipload of shoppers, and perfume shops, clothing stores and boutiques galore.

Next stop on your Carnival cruise is the coast of Mexico. Whether you intend to visit Cozumel or one of the other coastal cities of Central America, you can be assured of a wonderful time. Within Cozumel is enough shopping to keep you busy for days, and just about anything you desire can be can be had there. Also, rather surprisingly, the city is quite accessible for the handicapped. In the event any members of your party are in a wheelchair, some of the taxis can actually accommodate them so they can easily get around and you can visit a wider area, off the beaten tourist track.

Then there are the shore excursions. If you are interested in ancient history you will want to visit the Mayan ruins of Tulum, and see the temple where the Mayans watched the sunrise on the first day of spring. Bear in mind, the bus ride is over an hour. Still, it’s well worth it for the sheer beauty and atmosphere. On the other hand, Carnival cruises also offer you other means of fun. You can go scuba diving or sailing in the nearby waters, or spend the day in town and sample some local cuisine. No matter what your area of interest, no matter how you want to have fun, a Carnival cruise around this area of Mexico has got you and your whole family covered.
